Its good news for all new moms.

Amazon.com Inc, the online shopping giant, gives you an opportunity to shop for your baby without paying any shipping charges. Moreover, they are also coming up with additional perks on baby items like diapers to attract more customers. Amazon sees baby items as an escalating and potential industry and thus has initiated this new idea to make optimum use of the growing industry.

The program is called ‘Mom’ and looks promising, since modern to-be moms and new moms do not have the time to shop. Shopping online will also mean extra expense on shipping and other charges. Thus, it does seem like Amazon has captured the right target area.

With their new entry, Amazon will be competing with Diapers.com and various other retail stores like Wal-Mart Stores Inc and Costco Wholesale Corp.

Besides the free shipping, Amazon is also providing an additional 30% discount to those consumers who sign up for Amazon’s Subscribe & Save program on some for consumable items.

Doug Herrington, Amazon’s vice president of consumables, said, “

We sell a great deal of diapers and wipes and the new mom discussion boards and on our site talk about the great subscribe and save offers for diapers and wipes. So we decided to focus on the area we’re strong on now.

In its recent second quarter, Amazon’s revenue escalated by 41% and it is believed that this phenomenal growth is due to various strategies like low pricing.

With Amazon providing the best of the services in low cost, it is for sure that the world’s largest online retailer has come up with a good market plan. It is yet to see how much profit will the site enjoy, but new mothers are fortunate to get some good products with so many offers.
