The new Zee Studio website has a refreshing new look. Christened ZeeDio.tv the website has been executed by G2, Mumbai (the Interactive arm of Grey Worldwide). It looks like the creative agency has extended the “movies at the comfort of your home” idea.
The homepage is designed as a living room with varied amenities stacked around which even act as internal links. The navigation is flawless (no broken links) and the design is minimal yet engaging. ZeeDio.tv has made use of flash elements that are not in your face.
Thumbs Up
The ‘Get Shorty’ section is something to watch out for (literally). The section features films from varied parts of the world. Zee Studio has partnered with Motiroti http://www.motiroti.com/ for the aggregation of international films. Even the ‘Movie Calendar’ on the website comes in handy as it lists movies to be played all through the year, and has been cleverly executed.
Thumbs Down
The creative agency G2 could have done much more in the section titled ‘Funtime’, which currently seems like a drag. The section contains a rehashed version of Hangman and a kiddish memory game. On the other hand the movie quiz in Funtime is what will keep you busy. There is a lot of work to be done on the ‘Gallery’ section as it currently lists very few posters, wallpapers and only a single screensaver.
ZeeDio.tv even features a section named ‘Stars’ which has a listing of actors in alphabetic order and brief write-ups on their career. While the ‘Events’ section showcases movies and upcoming film festivals.
As a whole ZeeDio.tv suits its purpose but lacks on user interactivity. There are no elements that demand the users to share their views or interact with the channel. G2 could have created better games or forums to drive user interactivity. I hope someone from Zee Studio or G2 is reading this piece.
