Finally, the rumors are laid to rest! It is true!
Google has ventured into the highly competitive and lucrative cell phone market.
Google plans to take the cell phone world by storm with their Nexus One model. This super high-resolution OLED touch screens hardware will run on the super fast Snapdragon processor and be an unlocked GSM based device. The entire user friendly display will be designed by Google themselves.
Instead of the Nexus One diving in the market by a wireless carrier, Google plans to opt for direct marketing. The device is expected to hit the market in early 2010.
According to reports, the device will exclusively run on Google’s own Android 2.1 platform.
Cell phone manufacturer HTC will be producing the hardware for Nexus One but, nonetheless, Google is said to have kept a tight watch on the production and are dictating terms to the minutest details.
For long Google was of the opinion that other cell phone manufacturers did not bring justice to their Android platform. They strongly believe Android has an enormous capability which cell phone manufacturers fail to tap on. So this time around, Goggle has planned to make amends by producing their own handset which will run exclusively on Android. The ‘internet biggie’ hopes that this will bring out the best out of Android.
This Nexus One will be comparatively thinner than the iPhone. So let’s be patient and wait for this magnificent model to showcase its uniqueness in the market.
