There have been many attempts to topple the reign of Google….but all in vain. The latest attempt to do so is Cuil.com. The Cuil management includes ex-Google employees who have been the front runners of the Google search indexing team.
The new search engine titled Cuil.com and has managed to raise $ 33 million from VC’s before their launch. This is proof of the might of the Cuil management.
Their claim to success is that Cuil.com, unlike others, will crawl the entire Internet space and cover over 120 billion web pages compared to Google (which only crawls approx 40 billion web pages).
But by covering a larger spectrum and having an adept management is not enough reason to overpower Google. Only time will tell.
