The world’s second largest PC manufacturer Dell is said to be developing a pocket-sized internet device which would run on the Google Android platform says a Wall Street Journal report. The device falls under the mobile internet devices (MID) genre which is a fused version of a smartphone and tablet PC.
The device would be in direct competition with Apple’s iPod Touch. But sources who have seen the prototype have found it bigger than the iPod Touch. The gadget would hit the markets in late 2009.
