Keeping in mind the youth of rural India, Chaakri.in has recently been launched by Srei Sahaj e-Village. The main aim of this employment generating portal, is to create job postings such as plumbers, drivers, courier boys, carpenters, security guards, barbers and masons for the rural male youth, while the targeted jobs for rural female youth, are healthcare assistants, beauticians, village computer operators and data entry operators.
Srei Sahaj is a subsidiary of Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited and already has been successful in creating 75000 jobs for the youth of rural India. It has set up Common Service Centers (CSCs) which are run by Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs). Job seekers need to register their CVs with the VLEs who in turn register them on the portal. The job seekers can also register directly on Chaakri.in.
Srei Sahaj has developed front-end and back-end facilities to service job requirements of the rural youth. Once a CV has been registered, the business development team matches it with the job possibility created by the back-end recruitment team, which is in continuous contact with potential future employees.
In spite of the current financial downturn, the Srei group has managed to find job opportunities for many villagers.
