Get ready for GMDesk the latest offering from Google. The Adobe AIR program offers a bouquet of Google’s services packed into one program. It is very much like the Mozilla’s Prism, which in a way transforms websites into a desktop program.

The supported Goggle services like Gmail, Calendar, Reader, Docs, Maps, and Picasa are assigned keyboard shortcuts. So now you can switch between services by simply pressing Control + [1-6]. With GMdesk you need not open these services in a web browser, in turn saving you from a cluttered workspace.

GMDesk works with Google accounts and Google Apps accounts. I hope we see novel features with the updation of GMDesk in the future. And just like me many people want Google’s services taken out of the browser.
