Google added the upgraded Street View feature to its spell bounding application of Google Earth in 2007 enabling people to get an up-close view of practically every Geographical location from the comforts of their homes. And now it has finally reached the end of the world that is Antarctica.

The feature has been further enhanced to now cover all the seven continents with the recent inclusion of Antarctica, Ireland and Brazil. For all those who have wondered for years what the streets down in the white paradise of Antarctica looked like, Google Earth has done it again. It is not only amusing to navigate through the streets on foreign land from the comfort of your home, it is also immensely useful.

By dragging the icon of a yellow man across the map or a penguin in Antarctica’s case you get a 360 degree view of the area in question. According to the Deputy Data Protection Commissioner Gary Davis there have been no criticisms whatsoever about the feature yet.

It has been observed that the traffic on this web-mapping site increases by 20% with the addition of the Street View feature. The engineering president of Google Earth and Maps commented, “We hope this new imagery will help people in Ireland, Brazil, and even the penguins of Antarctica to navigate nearby, as well as enable people around the world to learn more about these areas.” You have to give the guy some credit for his sense of humor. Has Google extended its service to Penguins? Innovation is sure reaching heights.
