There is good news for people who have booked their iPhone in advance (or are looking forward to do so). Bharati Airtel and Vodafone have announced the launch of the much awaited iPhone on August 22.
The phone is supposed to be priced between Rs. 25- 30, 000 in India. While the frenzy for the hi-tech new age phone takes over the country there are a lot of unanswered questions.
* Why isn’t Airtel bundling the phone with its network services like AT&T did in the US a year ago?
* How is the phone going to be used to the fullest with 3G technology entering the market next year?
* You can only download tracks off Apple’s official iTunes store or by using a Mac. How is a Mac-ignorant country going to adapt to the same?
The future is bright for Apple but are Indian users ready for this cutting edge technology. The phone boasts of enhancing voice and video content. But with GPRS not taking flight in India, the 3G-enabled phone seems useless.
