The Mobile Store, the telecom retail division of the Essar Group has partnered with PayMate India, the mobile commerce company to offer a variety of services that can be availed by users by just pushing a few buttons on their mobile phones.
Electronic point of sale services will be available to users in 1300 The Mobile Store outlets across 200 cities all over the country. Users will now be able to recharge talk-time, buy and send gift vouchers and pay for purchases via cell phones.
PayMate users can link credit cards to their cell phones, and can make payments over an interactive voice response (IVR) call back system without divulging any other information. All they need to do is register on PayMate and they will be able to make shop online, as well as at retail outlets. They will also be allowed to make utility payments over Rs. 15,000 via this service.
