After winning the Champions League Twenty20, Indian League Cricket team Mumbai Indians have another reason to celebrate.

According to survey carried out by Social Media tracker Nielsen, the team has almost 2.2 million followers on social media website Facebook.

Statistics by Nielsen show that Mumbai Indians have shown a 118% growth in terms of fan base on Facebook in the last six months. The team is also the 112th biggest brand on Facebook globally. The report also says that Mumbai Indians have three times more fans than their closest competitors.

Chennai Super Kings, the closest competitor of MI have only 7.25 lack fans on its unofficial Facebook page and 35,000 fans on the official page. Chennai is followed  by Royal Challengers Bangalore which has 5.7 lakh fans and Kolkata Knight Riders who have just 5.05 lakh fans on their page.
