Nokia is all set to enter the mobile advertising segment. To initiate services in India Nokia has tied-up with Bharati Airtel to promote the mobile advertising venture. There are many ways to advertise on the mobile phone:

- SMS advertising
- MMS advertising (which should pickup with the advent of 3G)
- Ads between mobile games and while downloading videos
Internationally Nokia has a vast mobile ad network called the Nokia Media Network. The network was launched last year at the Mobile World Congress 2008. The Nokia Media Network has over 100 leading publishers and operators. This gives Nokia the advantage over other handset manufacturers as they even serve the customer at a different level; in this case it is when the customer is making the best of his/her mobile phone.
With the introduction of 3G technology and a lot of buzz about mobile Internet in India it is the right time for Nokia to foray into mobile advertising.
