With the Nokia ‘Ovi’ launched last month the Finish handset vendor forayed into internet services. Ovi has an array of internet services that include Nokia Music Store, Nokia Maps, and N-Gage games.
Now ‘Nokia Download’, Nokia’s mobile content and application store, will be integrated with Ovi. This integration will even be a revenue generator. With Nokia’s plan is to start-off in the Indian market with Mobisodes (video content customised for the mobile) for which it has tied-up with Hungama Mobile to offer ‘Kahani Hamari Mahabharat Ki’ and ‘Afterworld’. Nokia even plans on offering news, reality TV shows, children’s programmes, music clips, sports and much more through the innovative mobisodes. And the Ovi platform seems perfect in terms of promulgating and integrating these innovations.
Nokia even aims at generating revenue through the store with other localised content developed for Indian markets.
