Orkut.com, the social networking site (SNS), has launched its iPhone compatible mobile site for its Indian. Instead of opting for an application the popular SNS has gone ahead with an iPhone OS optimised mobile website.

The new mobile site can be accessed by typing http://m.orkut.com in your iPhone browser and you can start enjoying the full Orkut.com experience wherever you go.

Orkut.com is not the first to design and develop a dedicated online property for iPhone, as Facebook had launched the same in mid-2007. India is one of Orkut.com’s prime markets (other than Brazil) and hence they decided on launching the new mobile site in sync with the iPhone launch. This sure is a great advantage for many Indian iPhone users as majority of us are registered on Orkut.
