For the film fraternity Friday’s are crucial. In fact many film buffs eagerly await movies released on a Friday. But those who love spending their Fridays on the couch could enjoy ‘Oye! Its Friday’ hosted by Farhan Akhtar on NDTV Imagine. More importantly if you are feeling lazier you could visit OyeItsFriday.tv and get a feel of the show or view episodes.

According to the website the show offers “cutting edge humour, dazzling live performances, edgy style all rolled into one” (I wonder what “cutting edge humour” means).  Well, OyeItsFriday.tv is heavy in design and content offering varied sections to browse through. Farhan even has his own blog on the website which currently has an introductory post. Users can register on the website to access a few sections and contests.

Mumbai based agency Brand Catalyst Media has designed and developed the website. The agency is into print and branding, and has designed websites for Reid & Taylor, GR8 TV Magazine and NDTV Lumiere, to name a few.

Here is a breakdown of the varied sections:

Friday Filmi
This is a movie review section and the website promises to offer “reviews that are from your generation for your generation”.

Oye It’s Fried
Well if you have nothing better to do “Oye It’s Fried” is the page to load. This section of the website features nonsensical and irrelevant news items which they have termed “Fried News”.

Friday Fataka
Well this section apparently features “hot babes and guys”. But on checking it I found a page on Hrithik Rishan and Katrina Kaif. It had their snapshots, a brief description backed with a few facts. This section should offer enough juice to film-buffs once it is populated (we hope they do that).

Oye! Meri Maa
The team has created a character named “Maa” who is supposedly the “father” of all agony aunts (well excuse the paradox). You can post any question and find prompt answers.

OyeItsFriday.tv is content driven but needs to be laced with rich content and regular updating. Many Indian websites start off with a bang offering varied sections and options but fail to sustain in the long run; mainly because of content.

Hope OyeItsFriday.tv does not fail to impress.
