Soon Nokia users will be enjoying the suite of Microsoft‘s Office application on their mobile phones. This application would rival Google Docs and was much awaited. Microsoft and Nokia will collab to design and develop device management, business communications and collaboration software for Nokia’s varied Symbian phones.
Currently the Microsoft suite is only available to Windows Mobile devices giving Microsoft the opportunity to reach out to a larger base. Android and Apple seem to have driven Microsoft as they are the biggest competition. Even Nokia has been hit by the unbeaten popularity of the iPhone and the threat of Android.
But End-users, especially business users accessing Office products will have a range of phones to choose from. And in the end both the brands are assured leverage through the deal.
