There has been a sudden surge mobile VAS (value added services) companies trying to change the Indian market. Paid mobile content is still mushrooming in India yet many investors and companies believe in a gradual yet tremendous growth in the coming years.

Italy based mobile company Buongiorno shares the same thought. Buongiorno will be launching Blinko.com, a mobile community and entertainment portal, with over 100 million users across 15 countries.

The portal lets users create profiles, meet friends and chat while they can even buy mobile content. Accessible through the net, GPRS mobiles and SMS, the service is aims at having 15 million Indian users by the end of two years

The Indian operations of Buongiorno were started in 2007 with mobile advertising, promotional and short code management services. The subscription based service, Blinko.com, will give Buongiorno the chance to expand its B2C services.

The company aims at reaching out to one billion mobile users through various services by 2012. And the company even believes India will contribute about 15% of the company’s total revenue. For the year 2008 Buongiorno projected revenue of 330 million euros (more than $500 million).

Blinko.com will be launched in India in the next quarter.
