Google + seems to be getting better with each passing day. In a new development, Google launched social games for its social networking site Google +. Talks about gaming on Google + had been doing the rounds from quite a while and many users will be happy with the new addition.

The new tab allows users to play games while they are logged on the social network. Some of these games allows users to play against other Google + users.

Rovio’s Angry Birds, PopCap’s Bejeweled Blitz, and Zynga’s Poker are some of the games which have been added on the social network. FaceBook, the biggest competitor of Google + has an array of games on their website and compared to its collection, the games added on Google + seem to be scant in number.

David Glazer, the engineering director of Google said that the number of games were deliberately limited  for the time being. But he did mention that they would be adding more games in phases in the coming future.

On Google’s official blog, Vic Gundotra, Senior Vice President, Engineering, said that the games shall reach users soon and the games are being opened up to the Google + community gradually.

Google + has become immensely popular for its clutter free ‘Stream’ page and in order to keep updates and scores away from people’s streams, only the users who play games on the social network. Google also posted a promotional video of the gaming option on the Internet. Take a look at it below.

With FaceBook announcing its plans to update Games on its own network, it seems that both the websites have taken the concept of Gaming wars a little too seriously.
