The makers of BlackBerry, Research In Motion (RIM), have been doing a lot of work these days. BlackBerry’s recent initiatives are aimed at capturing mainstream customers.
The Canadian RIM has collaborated with social networking giant MySpace to develop a mobile application customised for BlackBerry. A BlackBerry community page has even been created on MySpace. This community will enable users to access BlackBerry news, content, videos, games, ringtones, skins and some other interesting features.

RIM plans on partnering Ticketmaster to enable its user to browse and buy tickets to sporting and entertainment events. The smartphone maker even plans incprporatee Microsoft’s Live Search capabilities in its maps and browser. On the other hand Reliance Communication (Rcom) will soon be launching pre-paid BlackBerry services in India. Currently BlackBerry is available on post-paid mode. RCom has finished testing the pre-paid services on its network.

The entire process looks promising as BlackBerry smartphone users are the ones who lead mobile trends. Even mobile social networking is mushrooming as an integral part of many lives. Industry analysts estimate over 800 million mobile phone users accessing social networks via their phones by 2012.
