Its really good to see old children’s comics and literature being reinvented for new age devices. Amar Chitra Katha has been belting out some of the finest application for the Internet and mobile phones. In fact the new age wing AKC Media has been proactive with such initiatives.

In their recent venture they would be customising the good-old Tinkle (a famed children’s book) for mobile games. The tie-up with Synqua Games will help them build a complete new ecosystem for their indelible characters. Suppandi, Arjuna, Bheema, and Shikari Shambu are some of the characters who would enter the virtual world.

Last month AKC Media had tied up with mobile operator Vodafone offering Amar Chitra Katha stories to subscribers. Ussers can enjoy folk stories, read comics, play games, download ringtones and even take quizzes.  All of this at a monthly subscription charge of Rs. 30.
