It looks like rock musicians are getting their share of fame after fighting Bollywood music goons for so many years. Finally rock bands have an array of concerts catering to their palette (in terms of music).

We just reported about the MySpace Secret Shows yesterday and today we introduce the 24X7 Rockathon organised by virgin-mobile-logoVirgin Mobile in Bengaluru. Reaffirming their ‘Think Hatke’ tagline Virgin Mobile has organised a rock concert which is for 168 hours of non-stop music.

It is really amazing to see a barrage of such offline activities (especially when its a live concert). I believe biggies like MySpace and Virgin Mobile, with international presence, really know their audience. In fact both the companies are known to juxstapose online and offlien activities to co-create a seamless communication.

Indian brands need to wake up and smell the coffee. Indian brands need to shift focus from Bollywood and cricket centric events, and try connecting to the real audiences.
