Social media is all about connecting with long lost friends and being in touch with the existing ones. But if you want to stalk someone on a social media site and keep a track of their activities; Facebook is coming up with something interesting. A new feature on India’s top social networking site, ‘Subscribe to ‘ will help you get an access to all the updates of a person you want to keep a check on.
The initial plan is only to use the feature on a specific set of users, and if it is a success, then you may soon be able to track the activities of all those you want to keep a check on.

In general circumstances, you need to add a person as a friend and wait for his/her updates to flash or go on their profiles to see their activities. According to the All Facebook blog, Facebook’s unofficial news site, the social media giant is currently testing a “Subscribe to” option that will alert you on any new activity that the person you are stalking is engaged into.

The users will receive a notification on the updates and posts new content (photos, videos, links, or notes) of the person you are stalking.

Now this sounds scary! If any random person has access to your updates, including your photos and videos, there’s a huge risk of your personal information getting misused by miscreants.

Although it is not confirmed as of now if users who are not listed as friends can view your updates or is it limited only to those in your friend list, this idea by Facebook might not go well with many users and law enforcers, as lot of profiles can be under a threat.

So will the top gun of the social media world imply the “Subscribe to” feature or not, and how private will your profile remain despite the inclusion of this feature, is a situation that we ought to wait for.
