Here is your chance to play your part in music history (literally speaking). In case you are musician then mega video-sharing website YouTube gives you the chance to be part of a global musical phenomenon. Yes, the Google-owned site recently launched YouTube Symphony Orchestra which is designed fore global musicians to flaunt their talent. You can be part of the first-ever collaborative online orchestra with an audition.

From amateurs to gurus everyone  gets the chance to work with the  renowned Chinese composer and musical genius Tan Dun and many  members of the London Symphony  Orchestra.  To take part in the  auditions you need to submit a video performance of a new piece  written for the occasion by the genius Tan Dun.  Well if you are  ignorant  about  the technicalities and notations YouTube  will provide  tools to  help you learn the music. You need to rehearse with the conductor and  upload your part for the collaborative video.

Finally all the audition videos will be combined into a collaborative  virtual performance, and that is when people around the world will select  their favourites. At the end of it all a selected bunch will have the  privilege to perform at New York’s Carnegie Hall under the direction of  Michael Tilson Thomas in April 2009. Take a look at this video that describes the entire process with ease.

The YouTube Symphony Orchestra gives the term “collaboration” a complete new meaning. This global online phenomenon unites musicians from across the globe to create a masterpiece that will linger on for generations. Digi Mouth urges musicians to log onto the web page and audition for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra.

The deadline for video submissions is January 28, 2009.
